Wise Laws

blog goddess

From there came maidens
– being friendly and knowing much magic
– three from the sea, which is below the tree.
Became one is called, another Becoming
– they advise from staves
– and Shall-be is third.
Wise laws they had,
of life they murmured from cuttings of wood.
Swelling is the tree’s bark, the strands of fate for men.
